If you are looking for a full-size pickup that is serious about its performance on and off-road, the 2017 Toyota Tundra might be the truck for you. The 2017 model of the Toyota Tundra has not changed significantly from its previous category-favorite model, other than a few revisions to its standard operating equipment.

Models

Toyota offers a full line-up of model options to choose from- making it easy to find a Tundra that will meet your needs and wants. There are three different cab styles available including regular cab, CrewMax crew cab, and the extended double cab. There are two wheelbases to choose from. You can also choose from three-bed lengths including 5.5-foot short bed, 6.5-foot standard bed and an 8.1-foot long bed. You can also choose from a regular cab which seats three, or an extended or crew cab which seats five or six (depending on the type of seat you choose).

The Toyota Tundra has not seen a full remodel since it was first debuted in 2007 but has had many adjustments made within the last decade. There are many different packages to choose from, but selection and availability may depend on where you live.

Performance

The Toyota Tundra is a full-size truck that can truly perform. It has a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard (2WD), and four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer (4WD) is an option as well. You can choose between 2 different V8 engines. The SR extended-cab and SR5 models have a 4.6-liter V8 that provides 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. It has a maximum towing capacity of 6,800 pounds. The regular cab, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and 1794 all feature the 5.7-liter V8. It is also available on SR5 models. It puts out over 381 horsepower and 401-pound feet of torque. It has a maximum towing capacity of about 10,500 pounds. Both engines are fast- reaching speeds of 0 to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds- which is on par with other trucks in this segment.

Cabin

The cabin of the 2017 Toyota Tundra is attractive and user-friendly. It features an Entune touchscreen interface complete with smartphone connectivity. It is also outfitted with the latest technology and a great stereo system. Seating is comfortable and roomy. There are many options available to outfit the truck to your liking.

Driver Experience

The Toyota Tundra gives drivers the precision and power that they need for a superior truck driving experience. They provide a quality ride at low and high speeds, but it may be somewhat stiff. It does not provide the best fuel economy compared to other category leaders, but it does provide reliable power and towing capacity.

Safety

The Toyota Tundra is an extremely safe vehicle that includes the following safety features and equipment: side curtain airbags, front side-impact airbags, trailer sway control, review camera, antilock brakes, stability and traction control and front knee airbags. You can also choose to have a blind-spot monitoring system, parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert system on some models (on others it comes standard).
