Land Rover Discovery II

The Land Rover Discovery was the Land Rover offering to the world after they had merged with Range Rover. The Discovery II series was so good that the exact same vehicle was produced for 18 years! It’s a car that’s provided the British Isles with an incredible amount of pride and one of their better selling vehicles.

The Discovery came with a pedigree that can hardly be matched. The original Land Rover series was incredible. The Land Rover managed to make the world smaller by allowing people to travel to almost any place on earth with just that one incredible vehicle. The Discovery II kept that thrill alive. The Discovery II may have been larger, but there was still the ability to go anywhere and not be afraid that you were going to hit a rock that would ruin your afternoon.

The Land Rover Discovery II had a larger goal. It wanted to provide the ability to do anything you needed to do with your world. You can drive anywhere on a road in comfort. The Discovery II wasn’t as luxurious as the even more upscale Range Rover, but the Discovery II was still outfitted really well. Power came from three potential engine options. Two V8’s were the general engine option. The V8s came in 4.0L and 4.6L varieties. Beyond that, there was a 2.5L turbo diesel. Essentially, the Discovery II only had engine options that were going to get things done.

The size of the Land Rover allowed for a feature that’s become commonplace but was far more exclusive at the time. The Land Rover could be fitted with 7 seats if you chose to. This turned the Land Rover into an excellent tour vehicle and there were a lot of Land Rovers being used on Safari to provide a lot of people with the opportunity to see things that they have never seen before.
