Jeep Wrangler Pickup
The Jeep Wrangler Pickup is not quite available yet, but when it arrives in 2019, experts predict that it will be highly dependable. As the name implies, the Wrangler Pickup is a variation of the popular and reliable Jeep Wrangler that comes in a pickup truck body style. Given the popularity, dependability, and ruggedness of the Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Wrangler Pickup will likely live up to expectations.
The last pickup from Jeep was the Comanche based on the XJ Cherokee, but that went out of production in 1992. Over the years, we have had to make do with pickup truck concepts, but the Wrangler Pickup is finally on its way.
Because the Jeep Wrangler Pickup is not yet available, information about it is still somewhat limited. Jeep dealers were told that they will get the auto in their showrooms in April 2019. This indicates that production should start later this year. We will likely get a glimpse of the Wrangler Pickup and confirmed details, like specs, later on this year.
The Wrangler Pickup should be available with either two or four doors. So far, spy photos have only glimpsed four-door versions being tested, however. Based on those spy photos, the Wrangler Pickup looks just like a Wrangler SUV but with a truck bed. It does have the updates from this generation of the Wrangler, including integrated turn signals and daytime running lamps within the front fenders, a kinked vertical grille, and a trimmer profile.
In terms of performance, experts predict that there will be the choice of a gas or diesel engine, with the 3-liter turbodiesel V6 likely available, complete with auto start/stop. The Wrangler Pickup is also almost guaranteed to have an off-road trim. This comes from knowledge of the brand combined with the off-road tires worn by one of the Wrangler Pickups that was seen being tested. For those who enjoy adventures, it appears that the Wrangler Pickup will also have a removable roof and doors, just as is the case with the Wrangler SUV it is based on. It will likely have the fold-down windshield from its SUV counterpart, as well. Based on internal documents from Jeep, experts predict as many as three roof configurations, including a power-sliding soft top, a hard-top featuring removable panels, and a manual-folding soft top.
