Infiniti Q70
The Infiniti Q70 has plenty going for it in terms of dependability, including a J.D. Power rating for having reliability that is better than most. It also comes with a comprehensive warranty that includes a 60,000-mile/4-year limited warranty plus a 70,000-mile/6-year powertrain warranty. Hybrid versions of the Q70 have an even more extensive warranty on their hybrid components, with 100,000 miles or eight years of coverage.
The Infiniti Q70 arrived for the 2014 model year, although it was essentially a continuation of the previous Infiniti M Series that had run from 2011 to 2014. The change in name came as Infiniti aimed to update its nomenclature for uniformity across the lineup. As such, the Q indicates that this is a sedan while 70 indicates it is close to the top of the lineup but not the highest-end choice. You can find the mid-size Q70 or the Q70L, the latter of which has a larger wheelbase and is longer.
For the 2014 model year, the Infiniti Q70 took over where the M Series left off, offering spaciousness, quietness, and quick acceleration. There was also a rear-drive hybrid available, but this did not get as good of reviews as the regular powertrain. You can depend on any Q70 model year to keep you safe, particularly with the available Technology Package from the earlier models. This package included features like lane keep assist, active cruise control, forward-collision warning, and autonomous braking. The long-wheelbase version, the Q70L, didn’t arrive until 2015, which is also when this sedan got a facelift.
The latest Infiniti Q70 delivers plenty of luxury styling, although it is due for a refresh to keep it competitive. While the styling may be slightly behind the competition, the reliability ratings for the current Q70 remain as high as the previous versions. The choice of a 330-horsepower V6 or a 416-horsepower V8 can work with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, appealing to a wide audience. Going with the Q70L in its current version enhances rear legroom by 5.6 inches and makes riding in the rear seat a true luxury experience. As the Q70 is still in its first generation, drivers may want to take advantage of its dependability by buying a used model, unless some of the recent updates truly stand out to them.
