Another pride of the Italian police force is their fleet of Alfa Romeo 159 cars. Prior to these cop cars, the Polizia used the Fiat Mareas. The Alfa Romeo 159 was a huge improvement, starting from the engine to the body of the car. All the glass on the vehicle is bulletproof. To make sure that the cops are safe while transporting criminals, there is a panel made from polycarbonate material that’s placed between the front and rear seats.
Engine-wise, the Alfa Romeo 159 runs at 260-HP and can go from zero to 150 miles per hour in a short span of time. There’s a remote-controlled searchlight and a lot of tinkering was done to beef up the engine. With all these features, cops can easily apprehend criminals even down the twisty roads of the city or the mountainous terrains in Italy.
