Honda Insight
The Honda Insight has come a long way since the first generation when it had an odd three-door shape. Then, the second-generation never really made a strong spot for itself in the market. The third-generation comes via the 2019 Honda Insight, which is in some ways a successor to the Civic Hybrid. The Insight is stylish and efficient, giving you everything you need in an aerodynamic EV. Just keep in mind that the latest version is just offered as a hybrid electric, not a fully electric vehicle.
The exterior will pull in your attention with the full LED headlights, the Daytime Running Lights, the high-beams, and the low-beams. The Honda Insight has the styling of a gas vehicle with its bold contours but is an EV. You will appreciate the alloy wheels, sweeping character lines, LED taillights, and overall design. This exterior styling also includes a heavy dose of aerodynamics, with both the engine and grille designs reducing wind loss and the front bumper limiting wake. The flat underfloor design furthers aerodynamics, as does the trunk surface design.
Inside, the Honda Insight has a sporty aesthetic with elegant finishing touches. When you look around the interior, you will also find fine double-stitching and soft leather. Upgrade the interior with leather on the steering wheel, an 8-way power-adjustable seat for the driver, and leather-trimmed seats. The deceleration selectors let you control the regenerative braking. The Driver Information Interface ensures you can always see the information you need, such as real-time energy flow and trip information. There is also a convenient Shift-By-Wire feature that makes it possible to go from Sport to ECON or from Drive to Park by pressing a button.
To keep the five-passenger Insight versatile, the rear seatbacks fold down after splitting 60/40. This gives you enough space for extra-large items. Thanks to the positioning of the battery pack, the Insight has up to 15.1 cubic feet of space in the trunk. To keep you connected, the Insight comes with a USB port and a 12-volt power outlet. You can enjoy safety features like Honda LaneWatch on the Display Audio touchscreen. You will also appreciate the standard Honda Sensing suite. This includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Low-Speed Follow, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Lane Keeping Assist System.
