It’s pretty common for electric motorcycles to advertise their abilities in urban environments. The best use is often as a commuting vehicle with a set commute in said urban environments. That can take any sort of range anxiety away and allow people to just enjoy the beauty of the ride. The Urban S is named that way deliberately. If you see one out on a highway, it’s likely to get lost. It’s meant to be taming city streets and swooping through tight spaces.

So what’s the downside to the Urban S? Let’s start with charge time. It takes a long time to charge up the Urban S. If you are using a standard charger, it can take a pretty grisly 8 hours to charge it. If you have the fast charger that comes as an option, you can cut that in about half. Admittedly the great range does make up for this. You should be able to do everything you need to do in a day on that range and then get it home to charge overnight with no problems.

The other main downside is the power. It’s only about 25 horsepower. That’s not a lot. However, the Urban S does provide a top speed of 81 miles per hour. That’s pretty impressive for such a gentle engine. It’s just going to take a fair bit of time to get up to that speed if you really need it.

What’s the best part about the Urban S? It’s definitely the price point. If you’re interested in the new 2017 Urban S, you’re looking at only about $9400! That’s an incredibly reasonable price for a motorcycle of this caliber. Yes, it’s not an acceleration smoke show, but it still provides enough power for your trips around town. For that pittance, you also get good features like Bluetooth connectivity, a large display, and navigation.
