New Tires to Enhance Performance
For the 2019 model year, the updates are relatively modest to the Acura NSX but are still worth mentioning. The biggest mechanical change is that the old ContiSportContact 5 P tires are gone, now replaced by the standard Continental Sportcontact 6 tires. These tires still have the same sizes as before, 305/30ZR-20 in rear and 245/35ZR-19 in front. This new tire is the same that led the Civic Type R to make a new record for front-drive during the Lightning Lap competition.
Other Chassis Changes
Additional mechanical updates for the 2019 Acura NSX include stiffer anti-roll bars in the chassis, both in the front and rear. There are also stiffer rear toe-link bushings to complement the new tires.

The updates for the 2019 Acura NSX continue with cosmetic enhancements that include a new shade, Thermal Orange Pearl. You can also now select orange-painted calipers on the carbon-ceramic brakes and some body color by the top portion of the grille. The last of these changes adjusts the styling, making it less beak-like, especially if you choose a darker paint color. Interior cosmetic updates include a new combination of blue leather and suede plus a new red full-leather option.
Powertrain
As before, the NSX bears the title of the first supercar ever to be powered with a bespoke Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive unit. This hybrid unit gives the Acura 573 horsepower and is perfect for those who love a thrilling drive. Acura uses direct electric torque with the engine power to deliver a dynamic performance that encompasses acceleration, braking, and steering. The powertrain is a 3.5-liter V6 with a mid-mounting location. It is twin-turbocharged and 75 degrees, featuring dry sump lubrication. The engine delivers 500 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque and has a 10.0:1 compression ratio.
The extra power comes from the Direct Motor Drive that fits between the 9-speed DCT and the V6. This electric motor delivers immediate acceleration and torque. Using Launch Mode on the track will let you drop 0.5 seconds for g-force as soon as you let go of the break. Enjoy a top speed on the track of 191 mph and the ability to go from zero to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds.
Transmission
The previously mentioned nine-speed DCT is race-ready and is an electronically operated wet dual-clutch. It also features double-cone synchronizers, high-rigidity shift forks, and an electronic shift actuator. The combination means precisely synchronized shift timing that matches the power unit torque. This results in shifting that is smooth as silk and super-fast.
