The 2019 Honda Ridgeline is a unique truck that was specifically designed to be used for everyday driving but with some truck capabilities. This gives it an advantage since there is no other vehicle like it in the segment, letting you haul smaller toys, go to the home improvement store, and run your normal errands.
Mild Updates
Compared to the previous model year, the 2019 Honda Ridgeline is more or less the same. You will spot some minor changes, like the inclusion of two USB ports as standard on the RT, Sport, and RTL trims. The RTL and RTL-T models also now get power-sliding rear windows, as well as a standard moonroof. Other than that, the latest Ridgeline is pretty much unchanged.
Styling
As you explore the 2019 Honsa Ridgeline, you will notice plenty of similarities to the Honda Pilot, particularly in front and inside the cabin. The front styling does include chrome grille strips, fog lights, and LED running lights. You also can opt for a Black Edition. The interior design, seating, and dash are similar to that of the Pilot. As such, expect a spacious storage space between the two front seats.

The 2019 Honda Ridgeline always uses a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, but you can choose from front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Going up to 60 mph takes about seven seconds, giving you more acceleration than the competition. Choosing an all-wheel-drive model will give you confidence in sand, mud, and snow thanks to electronic drive modes and lots of traction. There are also almost 8 inches for ground clearance. The Ridgeline has a payload of 1,569, a comparable figure for the class. However, the towing capacity is just 5,000 pounds, less than the competition.
It is also important to note that the underpinnings of the Ridgeline are the same as those of the Pilot SUV. As such, the character and ride of the Ridgeline seem more like what you would expect from an SUV than a pickup. The ride is more controlled than the competition, and the Ridgeline sits lower. While some love that uniqueness, it does translate to slightly reduced off-road abilities and a lower towing capacity compared to the competition.
Interior Comfort
Thanks to the Pilot influences, the interior of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline is comfortable, even on long rides with a full cabin. The front seats are comfortable and flat, while the rear seats are much more spacious than most competitors. There is plenty of foot room and headroom, and thanks to the door shape, the ability to easily get in and out of the cabin.
Storage
For extra versatility in the Honda Ridgeline, you can fold the rear seat up against the black wall to transport delicate items in the cabin. Keep in mind that the pickup bed is not long. There are 50 inches separating the wheel walls, and the bed is 60 inches long, so you can fit wide items, provided they are not long. There is a bed extender available to help with this somewhat. What the bed lacks in size, it makes up for in terms of flexibility. You can fold or swing the tailgate and use the dry storage pocket and eight tie-downs. There is even an under-bed trunk that can hold a golf bag or serve as a cooler.
