The Super Bee is one of the forgotten muscle cars of the late 60’s and early 70’s. American companies made a ton of muscle cars in that short period of time. The Super Bee can sometimes get lost in the shuffle.

Why name a muscle car after a buzzing insect? A muscle car is supposed to growl at you, it’s supposed to roar like a lion. Well, to be fair, it came because the car was based on the “B” Body architecture. They thought the car was super, it was B architecture… name done!

The Super Bee was similar to the Plymouth Road Runner. Both were essentially the same car, but the Super Bee was more expensive. Because of this, people bought the Road Runner. This turned the Super Bee into a rare and collectible car instead of just another common mass production muscle car.
