25 Fastest Cars On The Planet

#3: 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

Breaking the crust on our top 3 fastest cars is a ride that’s, surprisingly, one of the cheapest vehicles on this list: The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, or simply, the Dodge Demon. To be sure, this car was not carefully molded in an Italian space lab by a man named Pininfarina. No, the Dodge Demon was sketched out on a beer coaster by some guys named Bob and Kyle. But nonetheless, the Dodge Demon may be one of the most fantastical production cars ever made by a “regular ole’” American carmaker.

Although it looks like the standard fare Dodge Challenger, the SRT Demon lives up to its name: Zero to 60 takes 2.3 seconds from a dead stop, and just 2.0 Seconds flat in a rollout. A massive 6.2L V8 is fed by an equally brutish 2.7L supercharger gulping so much air, designers had to ditch two of the Challenger’s original four headlights to instead fit large air scoops, lest the Demon suffocate at WOT.

With pump gas in the tank the Demon makes 808 horses but throw 100 octane race fuel in and turn a special red key, and you’ll find yourself sitting strapped to a rocket that makes 840 horses and 770 torques. That’s enough to move the Demon across one quarter of a mile in just 9.65 seconds, trapping 140 MPH. This level of straight-line performance means the Demon pulls 1.8 G’s at launch. That means the moment you let off launch control, you’re almost doubling your bodyweight with sheer acceleration just by sitting in the Demon. Mind you, this is still a 100% street-legal, American-made car with a five-figure price tag.

Speaking of price, we find the Demon’s very sales structure whimsical: Pay $1 over the base price, and Dodge will send your Demon to you with a full race crate, filled with drag slicks and skinny fronts, some wrenches and tools, and a new ECU that tunes the Demon on the fly. Pay another dollar, and you can get a front passenger’s seat for your Succubus. Pay another $2 and pick yourself up a pair of rear seats for your two little imps.
