The Powerful Engines

No matter the Porsche 911 you look at, a powerful engine will enhance it. The lineup for this model year is almost all turbocharged, starting off with a 3-liter turbocharged flat-6 engine. On the 911 Carrera, this engine delivers 370 horsepower with 331 pound-feet for torque. Meanwhile, the Carrera S increases these figures to 420 horsepower and 368 pound-feet. Moving up from there, you find the Carrera GTS, a new model with 450 horsepower and a 7-speed manual transmission. The 911 Carrera T moves back to the base engine with 370 horsepower, but it weighs less, so that power goes further.

For even more fun, the 911 Turbo has a 3.8-liter turbocharged flat-6 with 540 horsepower, and the Turbo S has 580 horsepower. This engine lets you get up to 60 mph in about three seconds. Most impressively, the 2018 Porsche 911 lineup offers two race-ready models, the GT3 and GT2 RS. The GT3 gets up to 500 horsepower, while the GT2 RS gets a whopping 700 horses. That translates into a 0-to-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds.

Supercar Styling

The latest Porsche 911 maintains its iconic shape with some modern elements. Overall, it is nearly identical to the previous model year. This includes the modified rear taillights and the horizontal elements that create a wider, lower look. The interior materials are high quality. In addition, instead of the infotainment screens dominating the cabin, they complement a more traditional layout.

Comfort and Practicality

The only downside of the 2018 Porsche 911 is its lack of practicality; this is a two-seater with very cramped rear seat accommodations you will likely never use. There is also very minimal storage. You can fit about 10 cubes’ worth of luggage in the rear seats and 5.1 cubic feet in the front trunk. However, the front seats are very comfortable and offer adjustability and bolstering. Most of the time, you get power adjustability, with as much as 18 ways to move your seat.

Amazingly Diverse Features

One of the high points of the 2018 Porsche 911 is the sheer number of ways that you can customize this vehicle. Even the base version has a 4.2-inch multi-function display, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, an Alcantara headliner, eight speakers, a rearview camera, and 19-inch wheels. That model can even get 14-way adjustable front seats with heating and cooling. Those who want a true sports car can enjoy dynamic engine mounts, rev-matching downshift, launch control, and a drive mode selector. Just some of the other features and options available include an active exhaust, leather-clad air vents, a heated steering wheel, 4G LTE, and voice recognition.
