Mazda 6
The world-renowned manufacturing company called Mazda produced their best car to date in 2002 – Mazda 6. Once this car came out in order to replace the previous Mazda Capella, the sales of this company skyrocketed like never before. Mazda 6 was Mazda’s fastest sale ever recorded (approximately one million of them was sold faster than any other car they’d ever made). It was released among the “Stylish, Insightful and Spirited” vehicles of Mazda, which gave it a beautiful outline and a stunning look, one that Japanese cars are well-known throughout the world for.
Mazda 6 is one of Mazda’s 6th gen vehicles that progressed from the GF to the GG platform. There are three sub-generations of Mazda 6: GG1 (2002-2008), GH1 (2007-2012) and GJ1 (2012-2016). They are now making the brand new GL generation of cars, starting with May 2016. These three generations offer a range of choices when it comes to purchasing Mazda 6, such as the number of doors and the way they open. Unlike most sedans that came before it, Mazda 6 features a very sporty design with its low height for stability and refined body lines for extra wind friction and appearance. The first generation of Mazda 6 that came to North America was first sold as a 120 horsepower direct injection turbodiesel (DITD). This car came with a Mazda MZR engine (Mazda Responsive – 2.2l diesel in this case) or a Duratec 30 V6 engine with a five-speed automatic or non-automatic manual, allowing for supreme performance.
Mazda later released the Mazdaspeed Atenza (Mazdaspeed 6 – 2006), which was the race version of the popular vehicle. It is a mid-size 4-door all-wheel-drive performance car, designed to take its owner to great speeds in a short time. It featured the 2.3l MZR engine, which functioned at around 200 kilowatts. With Mazda’s Active Torque Split computer-automated control that gives as much as 50% of total power to the rear wheels at need, this car was definitely released to deliver and stun its competition.
Right after Renault Megane, Mazda 6 was at the second spot in the competition for the world’s best car in 2003. This and many other awards went to Mazda for producing one of the finest cars on today’s market.
